Elementary Ministry
Kindergarten through fifth grade is one of the most exciting places to be at First Irving!!!
Our goal is to reach, teach & equip children in these age groups to live out lives of COURAGE, boldly speaking the name of Jesus wherever they go! (Joshua 1:9) We are discipling them to build their confidence in Christ through Sunday School and TeamKID; training them to know the Word through Bible Drill and Bible Study and teaching them to know that God is there for them, loving them, strengthening them, and leading them. Jesus tells us in Matthew 19:14, "Let the children alone and do not hinder them from coming to Me; for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these."

This organization serves as the foundation of the Children's Ministry. At present, we are using the Hands-On-Bible Curriculum developed by Group Publishing.

Bible Drill 5:30 PM | 9/12/10 - 5/15/2011
Bible Drill is a program designed to help increase knowledge of the Bible, develop skills in effectively handling the Bible, and to begin developing memory skills. Fourth and Fifth grade Bible Drill is taught on a competition level. Children can compete if they would like the challenge. We use Bible Skills, Drills & Thrills developed by LifeWay Ministries.

TeamKID 7:00 PM | 8/25/10 - 5/18/2011
Children in Kindergarten - 5th grade meet on the Children's Second Floor for one full hour of high-impact Bible Study. This program serves as an outreach to our weekday kids. It is a unique blend of recreation, discipleship, Bible memorization, and Mission's focuses. We use the TeamKID Literature developed by LifeWay Ministries.
Fall Equipping U - Sept 12 through Oct 10
5:30 PM - Children’s New Believer Class:Led by Jennifer Mosty. For children (K-3rd Grade) who have recently accepted Christ as their personal Savior, or who may have questions about what it means to be a Christian. We will discuss salvation, baptism, prayer, worship and Bible study. Please contact Jennifer Mosty to register for the class and for the workbook. Meets in K206.
Children’s Ministry Bible Skills, Thrills, Drills:
This program helps kids to learn to hide the Word of God in their hearts.
K-3rd Grade – led by Amanda Bellah in Room K201
4th-5th Grade – led by Marla Gallemore and Al Ward in Room K203.
6:30 PM - Children’s Games:
Led by Amanda Bellah. All children, K-5th Grades, will enjoy crazy games. Meets in K204.
