Global Impact

The Mission Strategy of First Baptist Irving

First Irving has always embraced the command of Jesus to take the Gospel into the entire world. This statement demands participation in extending God's love for the nations through the Gospel of Jesus to the city and community surrounding First Baptist Irving, to the Dallas - Ft. Worth Metroplex, and literally to every nation on earth.

Each year mission groups and individuals are being sent out on mission endeavors and many others are being supported by monetary gifts. The following ten mission points will be the prayer focus, going focus, and giving focus, of First Irving for the next ten years. To truly impact people and people groups, the global impact team has prayerfully selected these mission points for our church body to invest in over the next decade

missionsBaptist Benevolent Ministries of Irving
Baptist Benevolence Ministries of Irving is a cooperative effort of First Irving and other churches to provide food to approximately 200 needy families in Irving each week. Operation hours are from 10:00 am to 1:45 PM, Monday through Friday. Closed on Thursdays. For more information on how to become involved in this ministry, contact Allison James

missionsCHAMPS
Children Have Always Made People Smile. C.H.A.M.P.S. is an after school ministry for children in the neighborhood of the church. This program takes place every afternoon after school and the children are provided help with their homework as well gaining an understanding of God's love for them. For more information contact Allison James

missions Honduras
The Honduras Mission Trip has become an important tradition every March for First Irving. Partnering with local churches in Honduras, we lead out in VBS, medical clinics, house to house evangelism, orphan care, prayer walking, hospital visits and evangelistic services. Honduras is a nation with great human need as well as great opportunities to present the hope of Christ. For more information contact Jason Hatch.

missions Irving Faith Clinic
First Irving and other churches support a Christian health clinic in our own city of Irving. This clinic uses volunteer doctors, medical staff, and nurses to care for those in our city who are without insurance and are in medical need. The faith-based clinic distributes not only valuable medical care but also the mercy of a loving God. For more information contact Allison James or log on to their website.

missions Journeyman Program
The Journeymen program is a two year experience for post-college age twenty-somethings under the direction of the International Mission Board. Journeymen serve as evangelists, teachers, story-tellers, and missionary helpers in nations around the world sharing the love and story of Christ. For more information contact Allison James or log on to their website.

missions Mongolia
Mongolia is the second-largest land locked nation in the world, and Tibetan Buddhism is the predominant religion. Yet the doors to Mongolia have recently been open to the Gospel and to missions. First Irving partners with Change the World Ministries as we send teams to Mongolia to do construction work, provide medical needs and work with children. For mor information contact Susan Etter.

missions Operation Christmas Child
Operation Christmas Child brings joy and hope to children in desperate situations around the world through gift-filled shoes boxes and the Good News of Jesus Christ. This unique project provides an opportunity for people of all ages to be involved in a simple, hands-on missions outreach while focusing on the true meaning of Christmas-Jesus Christ. To learn more about Operation Christmas Child and what they do, visit their website.

missions Salvation Safari
Salvation Safari is a mission sending organization that was birthed and is housed at First Irving. This ministry sends men and women to remote areas around the world to share the Gospel of Jesus. With a call to evangelism and a spirit of adventure, Salvation Safari presently sends teams to Uganda, Nicaragua, and Hungary. Salvation Safari values those who go, those who give, and those who intercede. Contact Allison James for more info.

missions SEALS
SEALS was launched at First Irving in March 2001, whose primary mission is feeding the homeless of Dallas. SEALS is led by the members of the Radiant Life Class. People of all ages can participate in this ministry. Children are welcome to join when attending with their parents. We feed the homeless every Tuesday night and meet at the First Irving gym at 6:00 PM. Contact Allison James for more info.

missions The Sudan
Constantly overwhelmed with war, disease and genocide, it seems that the Sudan is in the news almost daily. The Sudan may be a country with overwhelming hurts, but also incredible opportunities to minister the love and peace of Christ. Our efforts in The Sudan are primarily through a ministry called His Voice for Sudan which targets its care and evangelism to widows and orphans. First Irving sends a team to The Sudan annually. For more info log on to their website.

National Missions

Each summer our middle school and high school students take mission trips within the U.S. for the purpose of missions and sharing the Gospel. This year they will be partnering with Global Encounter Ministries. For more information on how to support this year’s middle school trip—financially, by prayer, by going as a sponsor, or attending as a student, contact Jay Miller. Local Missions

First Irving supports ethnic mission churches and is currently providing help to a Hmong (Laos) Mission Church located on the First Irving campus. To learn more about this congregation, visit their website HERE.

Mission 4:19

Mission 4:19 is a way for our church to care for, share with, and pray for our missionaries through the Adult Bible Study Fellowships (ABF) on Sunday mornings. Our desire is to encourage and the truth of Philippians 4:14-19 is what we hope will be said of us. For more information about contributing to the Mission 4:19 effort, get in touch with your ABF director or contact Allison James.
